Baroque Instruments
I always enjoy making baroque instruments. Their sound is really beautiful evoking the music of history. I like the whole process, from starting with a fine set of wood to making the tail piece and fingerboard to finishing and tuning the finished instrument. A baroque instrument is basically made as it would have been during the time of the great masters. The string height is achieved by using a wedge shaped fingerboard. This is made up of an ebony veneer glued onto a soft wood core. The strings are made from gut. My baroque instruments are played in some of the best baroque ensembles and orchestras throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Please click on the images below to see larger images.
